Twitter receives support 360 degree videos

The social network Twitter is adding support for 360-degree videos.

Users can sweep across the panorama video to look around in the image, according to Twitter across several US media .

The new video format is introduced in cooperation with Samsung and basketball association NBA. Using the Samsung 360 camera is captured game image which immediately will be shared through the NBA account on Twitter.

It is still unclear how the 360 ​​degree videos will be rolled out later. The social network has for example not yet said whether other creators gain free access to 360 degree picture on Twitter.

Facebook and YouTube already offer support for the panorama format. The videos show every angle around the camera, making the captured image can be viewed with a virtual reality glasses.
